2 Chronicles 9:11

And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king’s palace, and harps and psalteries for singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

The verse belongs to the account of the glory of Solomon's early reign, when the queen of Sheba saw the house he had built and the ascent to the house of the Lord. The algum or almug wood was brought from Ophir as part of the valuable cargo gained through Solomon's sea trade. From that wood Solomon made terraces for the house of the Lord and for the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers. Nothing like these terraces and instruments had been seen before in the land of Judah. This use of wealth for royal purposes shows that commercial gain was turned to royal display while the opportunity to teach visiting nations about God was neglected.
