2 Chronicles 9:28

And they brought unto Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.

Horses were brought to Solomon out of Egypt and out of all lands. These imports formed part of his accumulation of horses and chariots. He stockpiled horses to build military strength.

In doing so he disobeyed God's warning and command that Israel's king and rulers must not multiply horses. That command also forbade sending people back to Egypt to obtain horses. The restriction was a safeguard to keep rulers from relying on human power, yet Solomon followed human judgment instead of God's word.
