2 Corinthians 10:2
But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
2 Corinthians 10:2 belongs to Paul's defense of his course at the time when objection was raised to his doing manual work while preaching. The objection centered on his labor with his hands in connection with his ministry of the gospel. Within that defense he appealed to the Corinthians not to force him, when present among them, to act with boldness. That boldness was to be directed toward those who judged his ministry by outward appearances. Those persons regarded him as though he acted from merely human motives.
