Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?
The verse puts forward an objection or accusation brought against Paul in the form of a question so that it can be answered. The question is whether Paul himself made any gain from the Corinthians by means of any of those whom he sent to them, or whether his messengers did so. The answer is a denial that he exploited the Corinthian believers through Titus whom he had sent, establishing that he and his fellow workers acted with integrity and not from desire for personal gain.
