2 Corinthians 13:2
I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:
Paul had put off his return visit to Corinth to grant time for repentance before he had to face their sins in person. That long forbearance came from loving concern for them, not from weakness or indecision. When the warning was given, it was addressed both to those who had sinned before and to all the others in the church.
On coming again he was ready to act with decision and to show no leniency to those who persisted in sin. For any who continued in error and sin, that decisive dealing meant separation from the church.
