2 Corinthians 5:3

If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

This is one of the large, full, grand promises that belongs to those who receive Christ as a personal Saviour and feed upon Him. If the earthly tabernacle, the house of the body, is dissolved, there is a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. While groaning and being burdened in this earthly tabernacle, there is an earnest desire to be clothed upon with that house from heaven, so that being clothed there is no being found naked.

This being clothed upon is not a desire to be unclothed, but to be further clothed, in order that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Even though the believer may die, the life of Christ within him is eternal, and he will be raised up at the last day. Feeding upon these words as upon the banquet of God's Word brings strong consolation and an experience of the highest value. Such feeding proves the Word of God to be far above the word of man, as wheat is above chaff.
