2 Kings 10:9

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

In the morning Jehu went out and stood before all the people and declared them righteous, openly admitting that he had conspired against his master and killed him while asking who had killed all these other descendants of Ahab. His campaign against the house of Ahab was the carrying out of a divine commission to avenge the blood of the servants of the Lord and to destroy the whole house. The surviving members had continued in sin and had led others into it, so judgment fell upon them all.

His manner on that occasion also shows lack of restraint, for self rose up in him in a torrent of unfitting words instead of gentle and refreshing speech. The lesson is a warning to those seeking to win souls to speak with tenderness and sympathy rather than with harsh, uncontrolled utterance.
