2 Kings 13:6

Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
Israel did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel to sin, but walked in them. The grove that remained in Samaria was the Asherah standing there as a shrine. This belongs to the account of the ten-tribe kingdom in its continuing transgression, in its time of war and defeat and subjection to foreign powers. It was a continuing departure from God through idolatry even while opportunity remained to follow the Lord's commands. Such persistent unfaithfulness was carrying the kingdom toward its downfall and captivity.
