2 Kings 15:26

And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

This verse closes the record of Pekahiah, king of Israel. It stands among the accounts of the kings of Israel. His reign was short and troubled, lasting two years. It came after Menahem and before Pekah and Hoshea in the final decline of the northern kingdom.

It followed the end of Jehu's dynasty with Zachariah and Shallum. It belongs to a period of continuing conflict and decline for the ten tribes before the kingdom's fall. That line ended with Hoshea, when Shalmaneser of Assyria invaded Israel and Sargon completed the conquest, and the tribes were carried away into captivity and scattered.
