2 Kings 15:27

Pekah the son of Remaliah is named as king over Israel in Samaria, reigning twenty years. His reign belongs to the sequence of Israel's kings who followed Jeroboam II. More precisely, he reigned after Menahem and Pekahiah and before Hoshea, after Jehu's dynasty had ended with Zachariah and Shallum. His twenty-year reign was one of the short and troubled reigns of that final period.
Its place in that sequence contributes to the account of Israel's worsening departure from God and idolatry that led the ten-tribe kingdom toward its fall. Under Hoshea the kingdom came to an end when Shalmaneser of Assyria invaded and Sargon his successor completed the conquest, when the tribes were carried away into captivity and scattered.
