2 Kings 15:29

In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria invaded and took Ijon and Abel-beth-maachah and Janoah and Kedesh and Hazor and Gilead and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali. The invasion reached Galilee and the lands east of the Jordan, including Gilead and all the land of Naphtali. He carried away many people from those regions captive to Assyria and took Israelite territory into Assyrian possession. The captives were scattered among distant foreign lands.

This taking of people and territory from the northern kingdom happened before Hezekiah came to Judah's throne. It was an early stage of the Assyrian conquest that later ended with the capture of Samaria and the scattering of the ten tribes. It was a major blow from which the northern kingdom never recovered. The fall of the northern kingdom left Judah exposed, with the Assyrian border near Jerusalem and the wealth of the temple able to tempt Assyria to attack again.
