Jotham did what was right before God. In that right course he followed the pattern set by his father Uzziah. Yet the high places were left standing, and the people went on offering sacrifices and burning incense at them. If those separate worship sites had been taken away and the people led to unite in worship at the temple, their trust in the true God would have been made stronger.
