2 Kings 15:6

And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Azariah named in the verse is Uzziah, king of Judah. The verse stands in Kings, which gives a fuller history of Israel than of Judah, and it points to the fuller history of Judah found in Chronicles, which follows Kings. His reign falls within a nearly three-hundred-year history running from Joram king of Israel through Jehu and his dynasty to Hoshea and the end of Israel under Shalmaneser and Sargon of Assyria, and through the kings of Judah from Ahaziah to Jehoahaz.

That history is a spotted record. In it Judah always prospered under righteous and faithful rulers, but turning from God to gross idolatry brought calamity on rulers and people. At that time Hosea, Jonah, Amos, and Elisha ministered in connection with Israel. Joel, Isaiah, Micah, Jeremiah, Zephaniah, and Nahum prophesied in Judah.
