2 Kings 16:20

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.

2 Kings 16 belongs to the record of Jewish history that Christ holds up before the Jews in parable to show them their future as the result of the course of action they are pursuing. That history, culminating in the death of Ahaz and the succession of Hezekiah, is set forth as a mirror of where their own choices are leading them. It reveals thousands of years of forging fetters that bound them in a bondage no human power could break.
