The reign of Hezekiah son of Ahaz over Judah began in the third year of the reign of Hoshea son of Elah over Israel. Hezekiah was a good king. Early in his reign he set in motion important reforms in the temple service. He also invited the northern tribes to come and keep the Passover, thereby giving Israel another opportunity to turn away from idolatry.
