2 Kings 19:14
And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
Hezekiah received Sennacherib's taunting letter from the hand of the messengers, read it, and went up into the house of the Lord, the temple, where he spread it and laid it before the Lord. He did this while praying, turning the matter over to God and trusting Him in faith to deliver His people. The crisis was twofold, both a threat against Judah that only God could meet and save them from, and an insult to God Himself that put Jehovah's honor at stake. He sought deliverance so that God would uphold His honor and so that the nations would know that the God of Israel lives and reigns.
