2 Kings 19:26
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up. Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
God's word came through Isaiah to Hezekiah in answer to his prayer against Sennacherib king of Assyria, bringing hope of deliverance. What He had formed long ago He now brought to pass, that Sennacherib would lay waste fortified cities into ruined heaps.
The peoples of those cities were of small power to resist, and they were dismayed and confounded, frightened and confused. Their strength was brief and frail, like grass of the field and green herb, like grass growing on housetops, and like young corn blasted before it grows up and matures, showing them weak and short-lived.
