The money collected for the temple was to be delivered into the hands of the overseers of the work, who were to pass it on to the doers of the work repairing the breaches and damaged places of the house of the Lord. Those workers dealt so faithfully with the funds entrusted to them that no accounting was required of them. Under Josiah this repair work led to the discovery of the long-lost manuscript of the book of the law, and study of that book helped bring about his reformation.
