2 Kings 24:2

And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.

Jehoiakim's rebellion against Babylon brought bands of Chaldeans, Syrians, Moabites, and Ammonites against Judah. These hostile forces invaded from every side and overran the land. Their coming was not accident but judgment, sent against the kingdom to destroy it in fulfillment of the word spoken by the prophets. It was the direct consequence of Jehoiakim betraying his sworn allegiance to Babylon. It was also the consequence of his rejection of divine counsel given through Jeremiah, whose warnings he refused to heed.
