2 Kings 3:19

And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.

The instruction to strike every fortified and choice city, fell every good tree, stop every well, and mar every good field belongs to the account of the battle against Moab, and within that account it forms part of a test of faith. The test was set so that victory in the work would not come through human strength. It would come through God's power working for His own glory. It therefore required trust in what God can do and in the power of the divine Commander.
