2 Kings 4:10
Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither. Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
The proposal was to build a small chamber on the wall, fitted out with a bed and a table and a seat and a lamp, where the prophet could lodge whenever he came to them. The work was undertaken by the woman together with her husband, out of reverence for him as a holy man of God and a desire to welcome him on each journey through, and the room thus made became for him a quiet and peaceful place of retreat. In return for this kindness in providing lodging, God afterward blessed the woman with the gift of a son.
