2 Kings 4:11

And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

The chamber was prepared for Elisha by the Shunammite woman and her husband, and he regularly turned into it whenever he came that way on his visits. It was a quiet room set apart for his use, giving him a place to withdraw, rest, and find peace amid his travels. In providing it, the woman showed kindness toward one she recognized as a holy man of God.

The verse stands within the account that presents Elisha's ministry as peaceful in character. In that ministry he strengthened the work Elijah had begun and taught the people the way of the Lord. Through his ministry and miracles he brought healing and joy.
