So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. The Shunammite woman made an urgent journey to Mount Carmel to seek Elisha after her son had died. She went directly to the man of God in her distress rather than delaying or turning elsewhere. Elisha saw her while she was still far off and recognized who she was. He at once sent his servant Gehazi to meet her on the way. Gehazi was to ask her whether she, her husband, and her child were well.
