Elisha had the Shunammite woman called to him, and when she came in to him he told her to take up her son. God had restored the boy to life in answer to Elisha's prayer, so the command marks the mother's reunion with her living child. Her receiving her son back alive shows her faith rewarded. That restoration points to the hope that Christ at His coming will raise the faithful dead and reunite families separated by death.
