2 Kings 4:41
But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot. But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.
During a famine at Gilgal Elisha took meal and put it into the pot of poisoned pottage. He then directed that it be served to the sons of the prophets for them to eat. By that casting of meal into the pot he healed the poisonous stew and rendered it harmless. It became fit food for the people to eat, so that there was no harm left in the pot.
The adding of the meal illustrates God's grace counteracting a deadly element. It charges ministers to feed God's flock with sound spiritual nourishment. They are not to introduce into their teaching what would poison it.
