2 Kings 6:13
And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
The Syrian king learned that Elisha was uncovering his secret ambush plans against Israel and thereby frustrating them, and in response he ordered a search to find where Elisha was so that he could have him seized. Word came that Elisha was in Dothan, and on that report the king dispatched a large armed host to that place to surround the city and apprehend him. God's deliverance of Elisha from the army sent to seize him proves that God is an ever-present Helper to His faithful servant in difficulty and trial. That deliverance stands as a lesson written for admonition for those upon whom the ends of the world have come.
