2 Kings 6:8
Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp. Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
This verse belongs to Syria's war against Israel, when the king of Syria took counsel with his servants fixing in such and such a place where his camp would be for the invasion.
The Lord revealed those planned ambush sites to Elisha, who warned the king of Israel where the Syrians would be, and by acting on the warnings the king repeatedly escaped capture.
The exposing of the ambush plans, together with God's deliverance of Elisha when the Syrian king sent an armed force to capture him, showed that Elisha's work carried God's authority.
After the events involving Elisha and the Syrian soldiers, Israel was free from Syrian attacks for a time.
Later a Syrian army besieged Samaria and then fled in the night, bringing deliverance from famine.
