2 Kings 8:2

And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.

The first twelve chapters of 2 Kings tell of Elijah and Elisha, including Elijah's last days and translation and Elisha's noble and godly life. They continue the story of the reign of weak and wicked Ahab after Elijah's triumph at Carmel, his run to Jezreel, his flight from Jezebel, his lesson at Horeb, his connection with Elisha, and God's effort to win Ahab through the defeat of Ben-hadad the Syrian king. In this setting the Shunammite woman arose and did after the saying of the man of God, going with her household and sojourning in the land of the Philistines seven years.

Through such acts God worked notable miracles by Elisha's hand to reprove and instruct backsliding Israel. Her earlier hospitality to Elisha was remembered afterward when God saved her household from a great famine. After this absence the Lord moved the king to restore her home to her.
