Joram of Judah died and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and his son Ahaziah came to the throne in his place. Ahaziah was Joram's youngest son, the one surviving son left after his other sons had been lost in the invasion. Joram's death followed two years of suffering from an incurable disease.
Ahaziah's reign over Judah lasted one year.
