2 Kings 8:4

And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.

The king of Israel was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, asking him to tell all the great things that Elisha had done. This belongs to 2 Kings 7 and 8, where much space is given to the mighty miracles wrought by Elisha after Elijah was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind and his mantle rested on Elisha, while Joram was king over Israel. It belongs to the account of the noble, godly life of Elisha, by whose hand God wrought noted miracles and reproved and instructed backsliding Israel, while the house of Ahab is followed to its extinction.

This conversation precedes the king's decision to restore the Shunammite woman's home, which she had lost during a seven-year absence. God later remembered the Shunammite woman's hospitality to Elisha by preserving her from famine, presenting this deliverance as a blessing connected with her care for God's servant. The Gehazi who talks with the king in the verse shows the sure punishment of sin.
