2 Kings 9:33
And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot. And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
The throwing down brought Jezebel to her death at Jehu's command while he was carrying out the execution of the house of Ahab. Her killing fulfilled the commission to avenge the blood of the servants of the Lord and of the prophets. Her death formed part of the judgment upon Ahab's wicked family. That judgment was permitted out of compassion for morally weak Israel, removing a corrupting influence so that some would forsake heathen worship and turn to God.
