2 Kings 9:8
For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel: For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
The verse declares that the whole house of Ahab was to perish. That perishing was not accident or political overthrow but judgment from God to avenge the blood of His prophets and His servants shed by the hand of Jezebel. To execute that judgment God gave a commission to Jehu. Jehu received the commission after he was anointed king. He fulfilled it by killing Jehoram king of Israel, by killing Jezebel, and by cutting off the remaining members of Ahab's house together with its associates. His campaign in carrying out that work also brought Baal worship in Israel to an end.
