2 Samuel 13:29
And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled. And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled.
At Absalom's command his servants put Amnon to death while the feast was going on. Amnon alone was slain, and the king's other sons, alarmed by the killing, each mounted his mule and fled. Absalom struck in revenge for Amnon's great crime.
The killing was the bitter fruit of David's own wrongdoing, with his sons acting over the sins of which he had been guilty. It kept David's sin continually before his mind and made him feel the full weight of the injustice he had done to Uriah and Bathsheba.
