2 Samuel 15:11

And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.

2 Samuel 15:11 belongs to Absalom's rebellion against David, a revolt that arose within David's own family and drove David to flee Jerusalem while his son pursued him. Absalom took about two hundred invited men from Jerusalem with him to Hebron, and they went in innocence with no knowledge of his plan for revolt. Their affection for the son was leading them, without their knowledge, into rebellion against the father, who was the king chosen by God. Their presence helped blind the king to his treachery and established the confidence of the people so that they could be led on into rebellion. This rebellion was a portion of the punishment David had brought upon himself by transgressing God's commandments.
