2 Samuel 18:27
And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings. And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings.
The watchman on the wall recognized the manner of running of the foremost of the two approaching runners as that of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. The king answered that Ahimaaz was a good, trustworthy man and therefore must be coming with good tidings. Upon arriving, Ahimaaz proclaimed blessing to the Lord for delivering the king from the men who had risen up against him. When the king then asked directly whether the young man Absalom was safe, Ahimaaz evaded the question rather than giving a plain answer.
