2 Samuel 19:5
And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;
Joab came into the house to the king to rebuke David for grieving so openly over Absalom that the servants who had saved him felt shamed rather than honored. Those servants had that day saved his life and the lives of his sons and of his daughters and the lives of his wives and of his concubines, yet his continued mourning left them feeling ashamed of their service instead of acknowledged for it. Their victory over the rebellion had been turned into mourning, for David's sorrow for his son appeared to disregard the lives that had been lost and the loyalty his servants had shown. Joab therefore told David to go out and speak to encourage his servants, and David recognized that Joab was right and did so.
