2 Samuel 2:5
And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabesh-gilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him. The men of Jabesh-gilead showed kindness to Saul as their lord by taking up his body and giving him burial. David sent messengers to them to acknowledge that act. He blessed them in the name of the Lord for what they had done. In that blessing he honored their burial of Saul as an honorable and kindly deed.
