2 Samuel 21:13
And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged. And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
The verse belongs to the account of David's later history, which records the judgments that followed his great transgression in the matter of Uriah and fulfilled Nathan's prophetic denunciation. The chapter containing it also records David's victories. It shows that David's kindness toward Saul's house continued. It teaches that God holds His people collectively responsible when many allow the sins of a few to continue. It shows that God hates oppression and will not tolerate it even when it is inflicted on people outside the household of faith.
