2 Samuel 22:44
Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
The line stands within a song David composed while Saul was pursuing him to take his life. The song rehearses the dangers that had threatened him and the deliverances by which he had been brought through them. Throughout it gives praise to God as his merciful preserver.
