2 Samuel 7:19
And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?
David responded with grateful wonder that what God had already done for him was regarded as only a small thing, while far more was promised for his house. The blessings already given had lifted him from shepherding sheep to ruling over Israel. The far greater promise was that his house and his descendants would be established to last for a great while to come.
