2 Samuel 9:6
Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
David summoned Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, to come to him, and when he arrived David received him with kindness. Mephibosheth had been lame since his childhood. He came to David holding prejudice against him as a usurper, because of the reports he had heard that portrayed David in that light. David's continued generosity overcame that prejudice and won Mephibosheth's affection and loyalty.
