Where unto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
Paul was appointed to proclaim the gospel in the threefold office of preacher, apostle, and teacher of the Gentiles. That appointment identified his work as preaching, apostolic service, and teaching directed especially to those outside Israel.
His appointment was to make known the life and immortality brought to light through the gospel, through Jesus Christ and His power. The gospel he was appointed to proclaim brings salvation by God's grace and brings light and immortality through Jesus Christ. For this work of proclaiming the gospel he suffered hardship and affliction without shame.
He was unashamed in that suffering because he trusted God in Christ to keep what he had committed to Him. His calling was to serve Christ, and he remained faithful to that purpose despite opposition, persecution, and danger. The verse therefore supports the duty to teach the truth to those not of the faith and to make use of every opportunity to do so.
