Antioch With Paul and Companions in the Foregroundby Shazz90

Acts 11:25

Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

Barnabas departed to Tarsus to seek Saul in order to obtain his help for the growing work at Antioch, which needed a suitable companion in ministry to help advance it. The Saul whom he sought is the one later called Paul. He found Saul and persuaded him to return with him to Antioch as his companion in ministry.

The two then labored together at Antioch for a year. There they taught the people and added to the church. In that year of united service Paul proved to be the help Barnabas needed.

Brought to Antioch, Saul found there an excellent field of labor. Antioch was a populous city of culture. His great learning, wisdom, and zeal combined to give him powerful influence over both the city's inhabitants and those who visited it.
