Acts 13:29

And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.

Acts 13:29 belongs to Paul's Sabbath sermon in the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia. It was spoken after the reading of the law and the prophets, when he was invited to give a word of exhortation. In that sermon Paul traced how the Lord had dealt with the Jews from deliverance from Egyptian bondage to the promise of a Saviour of the seed of David. He preached Jesus as the Saviour of men, the promised Messiah of prophecy.

The verse teaches that after all that was written about Jesus was fulfilled, He was taken down from the cross and laid in a tomb. Those who had secured His death were the Jewish leaders. He was taken down from the tree and laid in a sepulchre only after everything written about Him had been fulfilled. His burial in the tomb was followed by God raising Him from the dead.
