Acts 13:34

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Paul spoke these words on the Sabbath in the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia after the reading of the law and the prophets, when he was invited to give a word of exhortation. In that sermon he reviewed the way the Lord had dealt with the Jews from the deliverance from Egyptian bondage onward. He taught that a Saviour of the seed of David had been promised, and he presented Jesus, descended from David, as that promised Saviour and Messiah of prophecy.

The verse declares that God raised Jesus from the dead to die no more, never again to undergo death, decay, or corruption. That raising fulfills God's promise to the fathers, the sure mercies made to David and promised through David. By this it distinguishes the risen Messiah from David himself, who died and saw corruption.
