Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
On the Sabbath after the reading of the law and the prophets, in the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia, Paul traced God's dealings with the Jews from deliverance from Egyptian bondage to the promise of a Saviour from the seed of David. In that setting he preached Jesus as that Saviour, the promised Saviour and Messiah foretold in prophecy.
The psalm's words about God's Holy One apply to Jesus. Unlike David, who died and whose body underwent decay and saw corruption, Jesus was raised from the dead without undergoing decay. The verse is therefore a prophecy of the Messiah's resurrection fulfilled in Jesus, not a description of David.
The risen Jesus will not return to death and decay. The Messiah thus proclaimed was to be a light to the Gentiles as well as the glory of Israel, so that Gentiles are recognized as children of God, which caused the Jews to oppose in envy while the Gentiles rejoiced.
