Acts 21:3

Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.

Paul and his companions had sailed from Miletus to Patara on the southwest shore of Asia Minor. The course ran by a straight course to Coos, then to Rhodes, then to Patara. The voyage from Miletus to Patara was prosperous with favoring winds.

At Patara they boarded a ship bound for Phoenicia. That ship was a second ship, the first ship having been left at Patara. They landed at Tyre because the ship was to unload its cargo there. They reached Tyre fully two weeks before Pentecost.
