Acts 22:13

Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

Ananias came to Saul, stood by him, called him Brother Saul, told him to receive his sight, and in the same hour Saul looked up upon him with his sight restored at once. This moment belongs to Paul's retelling of his conversion, which he told to the crowd in Jerusalem. That conversion overcame his former opposition to Christ and brought him to submit to the crucified Christ.

The restored sight was the occasion for Ananias to tell Saul that God had chosen him to know His will, to see the Just One, to hear His voice, and to witness to others of what he had seen and heard. Paul later told this experience to show how God directed him to carry the gospel to the Gentiles. This healing came before Saul's baptism and his preaching that Jesus is the Son of God.
