Acts 3:25

Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Peter's hearers, Israel, are the children and heirs of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with their fathers, ancestors and patriarchs. That covenant contains God's promise to Abraham that in his seed all the kindreds, families and peoples of the earth would be blessed. The promised blessing through Abraham's seed is fulfilled in Jesus, whom God raised up from the dead and sent first to Israel to bless them by turning each person away from sin, as the next verse explains. Preaching Jesus and His resurrection as this fulfillment led some of the hearers to believe.

Those now called to repent are the children of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with the fathers, saying unto Abraham that in his seed all the kindreds of the earth shall be blessed. This word comes with impelling force in the last days of the work of the third angel's message, when Satan works with increasing power because his time is short. At that time God gives diversities of operations through the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the outpouring of the Spirit in the time of the latter rain. From the beginning the church of God has had the gift of prophecy in her midst as a living voice to counsel, admonish and instruct for guidance in the closing days of earth's history.
