Pharaoh's Daughter Lifts Baby Moses From the Nileby emmanuel_higgins

Acts 7:21

And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

The words belong to Stephen's defense before the council in answer to the charge of blasphemy brought against him. He uttered them in a clear, thrilling voice that held the whole assembly spellbound. They form part of his rehearsal of the history of God's chosen people, traced from Abraham down through generation to generation as preserved in Israel's national records to the time of Solomon.

In that rehearsal he took up the most impressive points of that history in order to vindicate his cause. The survey displayed a thorough knowledge of the Jewish economy and of its spiritual interpretation as made manifest through Christ.
